Our Journey to Lansdowne
We started our journey from Delhi on the Siddhabali Jan Shatabdi Express train, departing from Old Delhi at 7:00 AM and arriving at Kotdwar (KTW) station at 1:30 PM. The resort arranged a paid pickup for us, which made our travel seamless. The one-hour drive to Peaks and Pines was a delightful experience, as the driver introduced us to the local marketplace and the lush flora and fauna of the valley.
A Warm Welcome
Upon arrival, traditional Indian hospitality greeted us. Ritika from the front desk welcomed us with a pooja thaal, flower shower, and arti, setting the tone for our stay. They served us a refreshing welcome drink – detox water and watermelon mojito. The check-in process was smooth and quick. Soon after, they escorted us to our Superior Valley View Room.
Superior Valley View Room
Our room was on 2nd floor, offering a balcony with stunning views of the valley. The room was spacious, featuring a king-sized bed, a five-seater sofa, an electric kettle for tea and coffee, an LED TV with Dish TV, an intercom, and free Wi-Fi. The decor was elegant, blending comfort with style. After settling in, we took a shower and relaxed, appreciating the natural coolness that was a welcome change from the scorching heat of Delhi.

In-Room Dining
For lunch, we opted for in-room dining and enjoyed our meal on the open balcony. The food was delicious; we ordered Chilly Paneer Gravy, Fried Rice, and Roti, accompanied by salad and Fresh Lime Soda—the combination of tasty food and breathtaking views made for a perfect dining experience.
High Tea on the Sun Terrace
In the evening, we explored the resort’s expansive sun terrace. The open gym area and the glass-walled gym hall with a clear valley view were impressive. We walked barefoot in the lush green garden, feeling the soft grass under our feet. High tea was arranged at the alfresco dining area, offering a 180-degree panoramic view of the valley. The spread included tea, cookies, cakes, steamed and stir-fried momos, sandwiches, cheese potato nuggets, and a personalized welcome cake.
Evening Entertainment
We enjoyed a live music and karaoke session on the rooftop. The beautiful lighting and seating setup created a magical ambience. Guests were encouraged to participate, and the staff provided soft drinks and snacks as per our order.
Dinner at the Multi-Cuisine Restaurant
The resort’s multi-cuisine restaurant serves all-vegetarian meals. The impressive setup and attentive staff ensured we had a great dining experience. The restaurant offers both ala carte and buffet options, featuring a variety of delicious dishes managed by Head Chef Anand and his team. After enjoying our dinner there, we took a short walk, relishing the cool evening breeze before returning to our room.
Morning Bliss
As we were in a Valley View Room, we woke up to a stunning sunrise right from our bed. The morning view was beautiful, with the first rays of the sun illuminating the valley. We freshened up and headed for the breakfast buffet, which had a huge spread. From North Indian dishes like aloo puri and parathas to South Indian delicacies like idli and sambar, the variety was impressive. Fresh-cut fruits, juices, bread, butter, tea, and coffee were also available.
Recreational Activities
Peaks and Pines offers a variety of activities to keep guests entertained. The games room includes a pool table, foosball, carom board, and table tennis. The kids’ indoor play area is perfect for families. The resort also has a huge banquet hall for occasions like marriages, parties, or corporate events.
